good fridays

Ahhhhhhhhhhh.  NOW things feel back to normal.  Hopping on the computer to write up a Good Fridays post is like laying down on your favorite comfy couch.  The cushions mold to your body and you sink down in with a sigh.

So, what 3 non T1D related things and I most thankful for this week?

1.  Having the kind of friend who comments: "call me first...." when I mention on facebook we have to make an appointment with Dr.'s office in order to have Ben's stitches removed.  Why pay a co-pay when you have friends who offer to perform small medical procedures in return for a grande iced coffee with sugar-free hazelnut syrup?  (yes, I realize I haven't told the story about how Ben GOT the stitches in the first place.  I haven't done that because I am not yet up to that part in my Alaska photo-post-montage.  Sorry, but you will have to wait.)

2.  Coming home from a vacation of over-indulgence over-processed foods and making gut-friendly smoothies. We like to make them with milk kefir, Greek yogurt, raw milk (illegal in Iowa but I have my sources . . . . hehehehe), frozen bananas and various frozen berries.  We have had them twice this week for breakfast and it feels so good consume nutritious and healing foods.

3.  Accepting a challenge to blog every day during the month of July.  Blogging, for me, is one of my only 'me' times and I have a feeling I will be needing a little bit of that during this month.  Besides, the super sassy Lora and soul sweet Heather have preceded me in joining the blog-a-thon.  Oh, and I may or may not have 'demanded' Lora blog more often and THIS is how she responded . . . . I am never one to back down, so in addition to commenting on her daily posts, I am throwing in the remaining chips and taking her head-on.  Can YOU handle commenting on MY daily posts Miss Lora LooHoo???  Ka-chow!

Alright, I need to go cool my self off at the pool.  Have a great holiday weekend to all my Canuck and American friends!!!!!
